Abstract

Since several last decades, sea level rising has observed in the East Sea with the increasing rate around 2cm/decade. It is predicted that by the end of 21th century the mean sea level will be raised up in the range from 75cm to 100cm. In the Mekong Delta, salinity intrusion will go further in the delta more 20 to 25km, and more than 60% area of the delta will be severely inundated. In order to response to any fluctuation, to ensure sustainable development, it is necessary to comprehensively study the impacts of sea level rising and to find adaptive solutions serving sustainable development of the Mekong Delta. This paper introduce such kind of research results.
