Study on impact of Lai Chau, Son La and Hoa Binh reservoirs operation on low flow in Da river

Abstract

    Lai Chau, Son La and Hoa Binh reservoirs locate in the Da river for power generation, flood control and water supply for delta. This article examines impacts of reservoir operations following the 1622/QD-TTg rule on low flow in the Da river. A hydrological model is used to simulate runoff in ungauged basins combining with reservoir operating module to route runoff to downstream. Six operation scenarios are developt for analysis. The results show that, the reservoir are able to increase the low flow from +1,1m to +1,5m based on different periods and scenarios.
