Abstract

    Lap An lagoon is being rapidly accreted due to impacts from socio-economic activities taking place in the lagoon and from river basins around the lagoon. Sediment consolidation reduces the exchange of water between the lagoon and the sea, increasing environmental pollution that affects the aquaculture activities and ecosystems present in the lake. Therefore, the practical requirement is that specific studies and assessments of the status and causes of lagoon sedimentation should be made, thus offering solutions to mitigate the negative impacts from the compensation. fill the lagoon. In the previous study, the author of the paper only assessed flow, sediment transport from the basin to the lagoon through the application of the SWAT model. Therefore, for a better overview of the processes leading to Lap An lagoon accretion, this paper will focus on the analysis and assessment of soil erosion and sediment transport due to runoff in the basin to Lap An lagoon.
