Using of steel slag to design the roller compacted concrete for roads construction in Vietnam

Abstract

    Using the steel slag, mineral additives and superplasticizer to design the roller compacted concrete component with good workability, high compressive strength, suitable for the roads construction.

    When replacing the binder with 30% fly ash and the steel slag for coarse aggregate with the content of 10 ÷ 50%, combined using of reasonable superplasticizer, the roller compacted concrete will be manufactured with compressive strength of 30MPa, especially when 30% steet slag was replaced, the compressive strength of roller compacted concrete at 28 days of age is highest, achieved of 40.8 MPa. The designed rolled compacted concrete to meet the technical requirements for construction of roads in Vietnam.
