Research on flood forecasting for reservoirs in the Ba river

Abstract

Floods in the Ba river system have been increasing in magnitude and intensity. Most of reservoirs in the basin have not a flood control volume. Recent flood events occurred create a lot of serious issues, need to establish a flood forecasting for reservoirs in the basini in order to mitigate damages. This report researchs a flood forecasting procedure for main reservoirs in Ba river basin by using hydrological models (HEC-HMS), reservoir system simulation model (HEC-RESSIM) combine with meteorological model (BOLAM). The results of flood forecasting are good at Cung Son, An Khe, Ayun Ha stations.
