Abstract

The “Gene mapping” refers to mapping of genes to specific locations on chromosomes. It is a critical step in the understanding of genetic diseases. There are two types of gene mapping: genetic mapping – using linkage analysis to determine the relation between two genes on a chromosome; physical mapping – using all available techniques or information to determine the absolute position of a gene on a chromosome. In this paper we propose an approach to improve the efficiency of the algorithms using linkage analysis on gene mapping. We build the algorithms by using the Haplotype Pattern Mining (HPM) Algorithms and Density Based Spatial Clustering of Application with Noise Algorithm (DBSCAN). These algorithms are implemented on the Grid Computing System which includes the clusters of HCMC Institute of Information Technology (IOIT-HCM) and Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI).
