EVALUATION OF APPLICABILITY OF THE BDS SYSTEM IN ESTABLISHING A SURVEYING CONTROL NETWORK

Abstract

The paper introduces some experimental results of absolute positioning and relative positioning of BDS system, use US-made Trimble R8, and Chinese-made S82C, Galaxy G6 GPS devices to conduct experimental measurements. Then based on the indicators SV, HDOP, VDOP, GDOP, Ratio, RMS and relative errors measuring of the Baslines make some evaluation comments on the positioning accuracy of BDS system. Research results show that absolute positioning has an accuracy of less than 5 m; Relative positioning accuracy is about 5-9 mm; the BDS system can be used in measuring a surveying control networks and deformation monitoring.
