Abstract
Social addressing is the method of addressing between non-relative people or people without legal marriage. Social addressing is an opne and ever-changing system. Since the open-door policy, social addressing in Chinese has had many changes: reusing the old addressing terms, the appearance of new ones, the stretching and narrowing down the scope of several other terms. This article focuses on reviewing the features of social terms in Chinese and the changes in addressing terms since the Chinese open-door policy till now.
