“NON-STANDARD” VIETNAMESE OF THE YOUTH FROM VIEWPOINT OF SOCIOLINGUISTICS

Abstract
This article deals with non-standard variants of language among teenagers nowadays and their impact on the so-called pureness of Vietnamese. The authors give a total picture of how teenagers language is different with standard language in terms of slang, codemixing and code-switching, borrowing and symbols used in daily communication. The authors also make a survey on this phenomenon and come to suggest some solutions to protect Vietnamese language in process of globalization.
