THE CHARACTER IN MAUPASSANT TCHEKHOV, O’HENRY SHORT STORIES UNDER THE CONSIDERATION OF COMPARISONS

Abstract

 

Maupassant, Tchékhov, Ơ Henry are three famous leading authors of short stories in France, Russia and United States in 19th century. Their composing techniques have largely influenced on young authors at that time. This article focuses on understanding the characters in their compositions in term of comparison in order to show the popular rules and typical characteristics as well in the way of their building characters. Hence, the research result is contributed to confirm each author’s style and common characteristics of compositions belonging to the realistism in western American countries.
