COMMON ERRORS IN PRONUNCIATION OF NON-ENGLISH MAJOR STUDENTS AT QUANG BINH UNIVERSITY

Abstract

Pronunciation is a skill which definitely plays an important part in learning a language. However, it is an undeniable fact that in the process of learning English, mispronunciation is now an obstacle for Vietnamese learners in general and QBU’s students in particular. A lot of students hesitate to speak English and find it difficult to practice listening skill because of mispronouncing. In this paper, the author aims to show the results from an investigation into mispronunciation of 100 non-major Eglish students of college and university classes at Quang Binh University. Based on the results, the author analyses the causes and suggest some solutions to deal with the pronunciation problems.
