THE PRINCIPLE OF “LEARNING MANNERS FIRST” AND PRESIDENT HO CHI MINH’S WELCOMING KLIMENT VOROSHILOV
Abstract
Our country’s direction of education and training is to educate the people with enough virtue, enough talent, capable of meeting the requirements of the new era. But the current status of education and training is more inclined to professional knowledge and skills than to cultivate and practice moral qualities. Ho Chi Minh always attached equal importance to talent and virtue throughout his lifestyle of studying and working. He always upheld both these factors. The article will present some of Ho Chi Minh’s and other scholars’ ideas about the relationship between talent and virtue or between literacy and manners. It demonstrates Ho Chi Minh's application of "learning manners first..." in his lifestyle through the story between him and Marshal Voroshilov.
