Abstract

The study on awareness of greenhouse gas emissions, climate change, and solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions among students at Dong Thap University was conducted by surveying 576 full-time students majoring in different 19 disciplines. The survey results show that these students have a decent understanding of the concepts and impacts of greenhouse gases and climate change and their impacts locally and at the university. However, some of them gain insufficient knowledge about greenhouse gases, such as types of greenhouse gases, impacts, or measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The rate of students who have never participated in greenhouse gas emission reduction activities at the university is relatively high. Therefore, the university should have solutions to integrate knowledge about greenhouse gases and climate change into the curriculum, increase and diversify extracurricular activities, and practice green activities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions right on campus. Also, students should be active and proactive in learning, acquiring knowledge, and participating in activities related to reducing greenhouse gas emissions organized by the School and locality, contributing significantly to the goal of "Net Zero" in 2050 Vietnam and limiting climate change globally.
