Solutions to apply the ASEAN green hotel Standard in Quang Ninh province

Abstract

Changes in the economic-political-social situation in the world as well as in Vietnam, the development of modern science and technology, the impact of climate change, and other global issues have significantly affected the development of the tourism industry of Vietnam in general and of Quang Ninh in particular. Besides, green tourism is becoming a trend and movement of world tourism and protecting natural resources and the environment is becoming the top concern of tourists nowadays. Therefore, the development of green tourism and sustainable tourism is being identified as an important strategic orientation and also a top urgent task of the Quang Ninh tourism industry now and in the future. The hospitality industry is one of the service businesses that use a variety of energy sources and inputs, so its impact on the environment is extremely large. Hence, the assessment and certification of green hotels for qualified hotels is a long-term stable solution for the hospitality service industry in particular as well as the tourism service business in general.
