Abstract

Currently, the country's natural and cultural heritages have been preserved, exploited, and promoted through tourism to develop the heritage economy in Vietnam. In the context of this unique economic system, heritage becomes intrinsic “raw materials” for the travel and tourism sector. In order to create distinctive tourism products, heritage values are exploited through the development of suitable tourism services. Once these products are placed on the market, the integration process turns them into specific cultural goods. The formation and development of the heritage economy through tourism is an inevitable trend and an advantage of Vietnam. With a strategic development orientation and timely development, Vietnam's tourism can grow sustainably and quickly establish itself as a major economic sector of the nation, all the while protecting the country's natural resources and distinctive indigenous cultural values. According to the basic principles of Vietnam's heritage economy today, it is essential to innovate in thinking and viewpoints, adapt the legal system, create orientation policies and development strategies, assess resources, invest in resource development, create production markets, and consume goods.
