Nho giáo hoá ở làng xã thời Lê sơ: Mục đích, biện pháp và ý nghĩa

  • PGS.TS. Phan Ngọc Huyền

Tóm tắt

Confucianization in villages refers to the process of disseminating Confucian moral codes and ethics to the rural population, with the aim of transforming local customs and culture, and tightening the villages' dependence on the central monarchy. During the Early Lê Dynasty, the state implemented various measures to spread Confucian ideals-such as the "three bonds" (tam cương), the "five constants" (ngũ thường), "three obediences" (tam tòng), and "four virtues" (tứ đức) into every village for the moral instruction of the populace. These efforts helped stabilize village life ideologically and socially, reinforcing relationships within the rigid framework of the Confucian worldview. However, these efforts had limited impact and were only effective for a certain period. From the 16th century onward, villages increasingly sought autonomy and gradually distanced themselves from state control.
