Economic Relations of the Nguyen Dynasty and Chenla in the First Half of 19th Century
Abstract
In the first half of 19th century, the relationship between the Nguyen dynasty and Chenla was manifested on the different aspects. In which, the economic relations played an important meaning, that influenced widely and deeply on the political, cultural and social situations of both Vietnam and Chenla, basing on including some following remarks: trade relation; the opening of the canal system; setting up the plantations' system, going reclaiming the new lands and productive development in the protective area (Tay Thanh town)
