The Process of Building Quoc trieu hinh luat or Le Dynasty's Criminal Law as Seen from the Cultural Diversity and Cultural Dialogue between Dai Viet and China in the Middle Age

Abstract

The creating of cultural values of national communities in the world is very diversified. It is this diversity that produces the needs of exchanges, dialogue among different cultures. The dialogue between a culture and its loyal copy is in fact impossible. This article deely examines the contents of the similar clauses of Quoc trieu hinh luat (Early Le's criminal law) and the Chinese laws from T'ang dynasty to Ming dynasty and points out the orientations of cultural values that they were basing on. The article will indicate the similarities and the differences among these values orientations that may help to understand the acculturation between China and Dai Viet in the judicial fields during the middle age.
