THE SITUATION AND CASHLESS PAYMENT DEVELOPMENT SOLUTION IN THE TREND OF DIGITAL ECONOMY IN VIETNAM

Abstract

Cashless payment is becoming more and more popular in the world. The role of
cashless payment cannot be denied because it meets the indispensable requirements of production
and circulation of goods and the requirements of the modern economy. Besides, cashless payment can
be widely applied in all classes of population and in many countries. In Vietnam, cashless payment
has been receiving the attention of the State, businesses and citizen. Vietnam has made remarkable
achievements in the recent years in the development of cashless payments; however, there are still
many remaining problems. Currently, our country’s economy is tending to become a digital economy,
that is why the development of cashless payments becomes even more important because this will
help to promote the digital economy.. This article will clarify the role of cashless payments in the
trend of the digital economy in Vietnam, then deeply analyze the situation and give some suggestions,
solutions and recommendations to develop the cashless payment services in Vietnam.
