RESEARCH ON BLACK HA NHI ETHNIC BROCADE MOTIFS APPLIED IN THE DESIGN OF MODERN VIETNAMESE AO DAI

Abstract

Application in the design of modern Vietnamese ao dai. Costume is a cultural product, expressing the national and modern aesthetic. The study and promotion of the national traditional costume in the current period is an urgent thing that can preserve and maintain the national culture. In this topic, the research team mainly explores the characteristics of modern Vietnamese Ao Dai (1970-1986) and black Ha Nhi ethnic brocade motifs. Based on that, we come up with a solution to apply the black Ha Nhi ethnic brocade motifs into the new design of the modern Ao Dai with the aim of bringing the traditional costume culture closer to today’s youth, promoting and preserving the aesthetic and artistic features of ethnic minority costumes in today’s modern life.
