The research landscape regarding Chinese names has witnessed significant growth in recent years. In a country with a rich history and diverse culture like China, the study of names is not merely an essential aspect of social and cultural research, linguistics, but also signifies a profound understanding of the society and history of this nation. Research on Chinese names has become more diverse and enriched through contributions from various fields. The diversity of names within Chinese society has emerged as a crucial topic in both sociological and cultural studies. As a result, the concept of names in China is examined from multiple perspectives, including historical, cultural, linguistic, and psychological, to gain a deeper insight into Chinese names. This article provides an overview of the research on Chinese names from various angles, based on statistics and analysis derived from previous research endeavors.
