INVESTIGATION OF SOME CONDITIONS FOR SURFACE MODIFICATION OF POLYETHERSULF ONE MEMBRANE
Abstract
Modification of polyethersulfone membrane surface has been carried out using
photografting polymerization technique. UV irradiation and acrylic acid have been used as photo-irradiator and monomer for grafting polymerization process, respectively. Influence of some polymerization conditions on the characteristics of membrane has been investigated in terms of polymerization time and monome solution concentration. The experimental results indicated that membrane filtration performance could be improved after modification of membrane surface by grafting polymerization process, with the increasing of membrane retention and its flux for separation of protein.
