Abstract

The development of science and technology in recent years has had a strong impact on industrial production in general and the mining sector in particular. New technology applications such as electrification, automation, and digitalization have promoted the creation of many modern self-propelled vehicles, automated tunnel drilling and construction systems, navigation systems, and smart monitoring. These new technologies contribute to helping the mining industry improve profit margins, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and improve the health and safety of workers working in the underground mining sector as well as the surface mining sector. This article summarizes the latest development research and challenges of some emerging technologies in mineral exploitation around the world today. The main content is to discuss and learn about digital technical technologies, pointing out the advantages and disadvantages of the technologies in practical application in underground and surface mines.
