AUGUSTE COMTE’S CONCEPTION OF POSITIVIST SOCIETY

Abstract

The French philosopher Auguste Comte (1798–1857) was the founder of positivism and modern sociology. Theoretical basis of Auguste Comte's positivist philosophy which was based on the achievements of natural sciences and his “Law of the three stages” greatly influences on philosophers’ thoughts in 19th century. In this paper, the author concentrates on analyzing his conception of positivist society and pointing out its values, limitations.
