QUALITY OF LIFE AMONGST THE ELDERLY IN THE INNER CITY OF HO CHI MINH CITY (Case Study of Ward 15, District 10)

Abstract

Taking good care of the spiritual and material life of the elderly reflects that social security is well done for the elderly. Ho Chi Minh City has a rapidly increasing proportion of the elderly population, therefore, research on social security in general and on the elderly in particular has practical significance.. Based on the data of the qualitative research conducted in 2020 in Ward 15, District 10, Ho Chi Minh City and a number of other secondary documents, the article analyzes some relevant situations to the quality of life of the elderly in Ho Chi Minh City. The research results show that the elderly in Ho Chi Minh City are quite satisfied with their own quality of life. The level of satisfaction with spiritual and material life varies among groups of living standards, health status and economic autonomy of the elderly.
