Abstract

The result of autopsy for 2005 pigs and 482 goats in Thai Nguyen province showed that 406 pigs and 87 goats were infected with Cysticercus tenuicollis larvae. The intensity of infection was from 1-54 larvae/pig, 1-31 larvae/goat. The prevalence of Cysticercus tenuicollis larvae increased in accordance with age of pigs and goats. But sex and seasons were not affected to the prevalence. The infection rate of Taenia hydatigena tapeworm in dogs in 3 districts of Thai Nguyen province was 24.49%. The correlation between the infection rate of Taenia hydatigena tapeworm in dogs and the infection rate of Cysticercus tenuicollis larvae in pigs and goats was closely favourable with R = 0.877 and R = 0.725, respectively.
