Abstract

The objective of this study aimed at determining the isolation rate, bacterial count and antibiotic susceptibility of Escherichia coli in sea duck 15 Dai Xuyen breed. The studied result showed that in fresh water raising condition, the isolation rate of E.coli in the pre-layer ducks was higher than that of the layer ducks. The isolation rate of E.coli in the sea water raising ducks and fresh water raising ducks was not different. The total E.coli count in the sea water raising ducks was higher than that of the fresh water raising ducks. However, antibiotic susceptibility of E. coli isolated from the sea water raising ducks was higher than that of the fresh water raising ducks. This is the first study on the effects of high salinity concentration and raising conditions to the isolation rate, bacterial counts and antibiotic susceptibility of E. coli in sea duck 15 Dai Xuyen breed.
