Abstract

The objective of this study aimed at assessing the efficacy of three most popular vaccination procedures against Newcastle disease in the black chickens in Cho Gao district, Tien Giang province. A total of 60 black chicken farms were investigated for different Newcastle vaccine virus strains and the vaccination programmes against Newcastle disease. In this study, 480
black chickens were allocated into 4 groups, including (1) Control group (the chickens were not vaccinated); (2) Experimental group I (Newcastle vaccination for the chickens at 1, 12 and 21 days old); experimental group II (Newcastle vaccination for the chickens at 3, 15 and 35 days old) and experimental group III (Newcastle vaccination for the chickens at 3, 18 and 42 days old). The antibody titer was determined by hemagglutination inhibition (HI) test. The studied results showed that the chickens in experimental group I performed the gap of immunity that was shorter in comparison with the chickens in other experimental groups.
