Research and design of a calibration and verification system for tape measures and rulers with a measurement range of up to 30 metres
Abstract
To meet the demand for calibrating large-length measuring instruments, such as tape measures, rulers, and laser distance meters, in the construction, transportation, and industrial sectors, the research team has designed a calibration system with a measuring range of up to 30 metres using a laser interferometer derived from the primary length standard. Based on the research and analysis of standard systems currently in use at national metrology
institutes around the world, the study proposes a system structure, operating principle, and design aligned with the technical, economic, and infrastructural conditions in Vietnam. Also, the system ensures feasibility, efficiency, and high applicability in practical use.
