Changing painting career in Sình village in the current context.

Abstract

In the context of an increasingly developing country, traditional folk values, especially the worship paintings, receive little attention while a lot of cultural values were imported. They penetrated into society today in many different ways and has left many good effects, but it is accompanied by many negative effects on the cultural life of Vietnamese people. Through researching sources, we found that although there are many research works on the paintings of Sình village, but almost only learn and introduce Sình paintings on the origin, content, meaning... but no works those who study deeply about the change of this profession in the present society, although this is a very urgent issue, need research to have a proper view of folklore in the current context. At any angle to consider the role of Sình village paintings, we must also admit that the process of existence and development of Sình village paintings is a confirmation of the folk art line of a land associated with the collective traditional beliefs, reflecting an inherent need of the ancient times and becoming close in a historical period of Đàng Trong. But perhaps the most remarkable thing is that Sình village paintings has typical characteristics for folk painting of a land, reflecting the religious needs of Thuận Hóa residents in particular and the Central in general.
