The South China Sea is not only a matter of sovereignty and territorial integrity, but also directly affects the future of Vietnam’s economic development. However, the South China Sea is currently the most complex dispute area in the world today, because: The area of the sea area and the largest number of disputed islands, specifically the area of the sea area in The Nine-dashed Line, reaches nearly 2 million km2, involving most of the parties, namely 5 countries, 6 sides, China is a big country, one party is in dispute but it makes unclear claim, making the dispute more complicated. Security and stability, as well as freedom of navigation in the South China Sea, are heavily dependent on Chinese policy. Therefore, researching and understanding about China’s policies is very necessary and urgent today.
China’s policy on the South China Sea is a big issue, to understand that research is needed from many angles. In the context of this research paper, I only mentioned the role of the East Sea in China, and then generalized its policies in each stage, thereby making some assessments and recommendations.
