Abstract

LOOK BACK ON LAND ADJUSTMENT IN THE RURAL AREAS OF THE SOUTHERN OF VIETNAM FROM 1975 TO THE MIDDLE 1980S
From 1975 to the mid-1980s, a land adjustment took place in the rural areas of the Southern in order to eliminate the remnant of the colony and feudal, divided the land to peasants households who did not own it or the lack of fields. It contributed to promoting the corporation and turned the rural area of the Southern into massive production under the socialist. Land adjustments were executed by 2 periods, the first period lasted from 1978 to 1982 and the other lasted from the middle of 1983 to 1985. The process of land adjustment made a large impaction on-field ownership and both the Southern agricultural economy and society at that time. Nevertheless, it expressed a lot of mistakes and left us worth experiences in dealing with land issues later.
