CATHOLICISM AMONG THE VIETNAMESE CHINESE IN HO CHI MINH CITY

The first Catholics appeared in the Chinese community in Vietnam around the late 18th or early 19th centuries. At present time, Catholicism has grown steadily in this community, especially in Ho Chi Minh City. From the approaches of Sociology and Religious Studies, the article focuses on the situation of Catholicism among Vietnamese Chinese in Ho Chi Minh City, the largest city in Vietnam, through exploring aspects such as faith, practice, and community organization.
