Abstract

Tongue twister sound is one of types of sound variations in Chinese dialect. It
affects semantics, syntax and rhetorical nuance. Tongue twister sound is commonly used in
oral language, either in daily communication or in specific language expressions such as:
host, lecture, etc. The words associated with the tongue twister sound contribute to the
abundance of vocabulary, which has positive effects on the development of the modern
Chinese. However, due to local limitations, tongue twister sound is one of the difficulties in
teaching Chinese oral proficiency, and is also one of the major obstacles for learners. Within
the scope of this paper, through the study of learner's difficulties in tongue twister sound,
we hope to be able to find out the causes, then we can provide implications in teaching in
order to not only enhance teaching results but also help learners study better and improve
their Chinese language skills.
