Abstract

Collaborative writing, the process in which two or more people work together from start to finish to produce a single text, is strongly promoted by scholars in the view of the fact that students’ second language learning can be facilitated through peer interaction in completing written tasks. This study applies questionnaires and in-depth interviews to investigate students’ reflections on their collaborative writing experience at two intact English writing classes at a Vietnamese university with 79 participants. The findings show that most students have positive attitude towards collaborative writing tasks applied as classroom activities. Though some difficulties are pointed out, most participants believe that the benefits of collaborative writing outweigh the drawbacks as well as show interest in taking part in collaborative writing tasks again.
