THE TONE IN VIETNAMESE PROSE FROM 1986 UNTIL NOW

Abstract

From 1986 till now, prose is one of the most dynamic literary genres, loved and
well received by a large number of readers with its flexibility, brevity, and conciseness. The
prose writers often go deep into the present life to discover and find out the best things of
a glorious era as well as timely reflect the hot issues of society. The tone of the prose of
this period changed flexibly, capable of spreading into the world inside the reader's soul.
It is both a deep lyrical tone but still combined with a reflective and philosophical tone on
issues of social and human life. In addition, there is a humorous and mocking tone to pity
and condole when witnessing the change in many aspects of life. Sometimes, we come
across simple, ordinary things in the prose but contain great value. In this article, we focus
on analyzing and clarifying the characteristics of the voices of prose writers to affirm the
unique value of this dynamic literary genre.
