SURVEY ON MAMMAL FAUNA IN TAN TRAO SPECIAL – USING FOREST, TUYEN QUANG PROVINCE

Abstract

    Tan Trao Special - using Forest is a significant historical-cultural relic, attracting a large number of tourists every year. Besides, it has hidden significant biodiversity values with a large forest area and typical ecosystem in northwest Vietnam. A survey in Tan Trao SUF area in 2022 has provided a checklist of 33 mammal species belonging to 21 families and 9 orders including 11 species of conservation value. The similarity of the fauna of Tan Trao SUF is highest with Ba Be National Park among surrounding areas because of the similarities in topography and climate. Although there are some threats to the area's biodiversity, in general, this location is nevertheless suited for the development of eco-tourism combined with cultural and historical tourism.
