Abstract

In consumer relations, consumers are always in the position of being weak and passive. This is the information asymmetry between consumers and business organizations. In order to overcome this weak position, Vietnam’s law has provisions on the responsibilities of organizations and individuals towards consumers. However, in practice, the consumer’s right to be provided with information remains severely violated in various forms. The reasons are supposed to be due to the shortcomings of law and the fact that some business organizations have not complied with the law. Therefore, it is necessary to have specific regulations and adequate sanctions to protect consumers. The article analyzes the commodity information and the responsibility of providing goods information and the practical implementation of law, thus recommending some solutions for the improvement of law on commodity information responsibility.
