THE LAW ON PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION IN THE CONTEXT OF DEVELOPING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND OTHER EMERGING DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES

Abstract

The fourth industrial revolution has flourished with emerging digital technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI), automation, quantum computing, virtual reality (VR), Internet of Things (IoT), etc that change the world eternally. In there, the most mentioned term in the mass media was AI, which truly influent to almost every area of our social-economic life, especially personal data. It is undeniable that the benefits from AI are magnificent, however, we also need to objectively evaluate the seriousness of personal rights, personal data’s violation during AI application in order to build a legal framework regulating the issue in detail. The paper explores the context of developing AI and other emerging digital technologies, benefits and challenges for personal data protection, current laws and proposes some recommendations in the future.
