Abstract

This research paper applies a typological approach to investigate the ideological imprints of the Buddhist culture in Vietnamese historical novels after 1986 written about the Ly Tran dynasties. Of these ideologies, the three religions of the same origin, the ideology of national harmony, and the ideology of compassion and charity were the blue prints for writers to inteprete and write about human and world issues. The contemporary authors of historical fictions have sought “the national identity, the national values” in historical topics, aiming at exploring the roots of the culture for the intense vitality of the Vietnamese culture.
