THE CHARACTERISTIC OF APPRECIATION OF FAMILY AND VILLAGE COMMUNITY IN NORTHERN AND SOUTHERN CHINESE CULTURE

Abstract

China is a huge country with many differences between regions. Among those differences, the cultural differences between north and south are the largest and clearest. They have been shown in many fields, especially in the act of organizing culture. The northern has trend to appreciate family, the southern has trend to attach importance to village community. The expression of the characteristic of family is intenseness and toward internation. Meanwhile, the expression of the characteristic of village community is softness and the tendency of appreciation responsibility of village community. The article outlines the picture of the northern and southern Chinese cultural characteristics in the act of organizing culture, therefrom we can know the contributions of the North and South to building the value system of China.
