Abstract

The Two Sessions (The Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference - CPPCC and the National People’s Congress - National Assembly) held every March is, among others, the most critical political events of the year in China, which allows the world to grasp an overview of China’s political and socio-economic situation. The 2024 Two Sessions shows that China’s economic development and national rejuvenation goals remain key issues. In terms of culture, in the context of the strong global technology race, the Chinese Government emphasizes the strategy of cultural digitalization, promoting the application of science and technology in exploiting cultural values, while improving the level of free services at public cultural venues to improve the quality of life for the people. The article analyzes the outstanding issues in cultural policy mentioned in the 2024 Work Report and makes some forecasts about its cultural development direction in the coming time.
