Abstract

The world’s economy and politics in 2005 and scenario
2006 is a research product made by the collective of
researchers of the Institute of World Economy and Politic
(under the Vietnam’s Academy of Social Sciences) and
adapted into book with Associate Prof. and Dr. Lª Bé LÜnh
as editor-in-chief.
The publication described the overall landscape of
international economy and politics, presented in three major
sections: assessment of the world economic situation in
2005; international political situation in 2005; and,
assessment and observations on the world’s economic and
political situation in 2006. It portrayed primary defining features and movements, gave an analysis of causes and real situation of macroeconomic indicators, international trade, finance and currency as well as foreign direct investment; generalized current international political trends, reviewed and
emphasized remarkable political events as well as the
international political status of developing countries; gave a
scenario on the common tendency of the world’s economy
and politics in 2006, particularly pointed out those
concerned with Vietnam’s international integration process.
Added to the main content, the book also has an annex
providing statistical data of the world economic situation
and external economic relations of Vietnam, a system of
illustrative tables and graphs, for interested researchers and
readers at large.
