The Communist Party of Vietnam's Viewpoint on Building a Culture of Environmental Protection
Abstract
Targeting a culture of environmental protection has been striven toward by many countries worldwide. The Communist Party and the State of Vietnam attach great importance to environmental protection. It can be argued that, while a unified theoretical system for building a culture of environmental protection has not yet been formulated, the Communist Party of Vietnam has articulated clear and consistent viewpoints on this matter. This article analyzes the Party’s viewpoints on building the environmental culture as expressed in its official documents from the 6th to the 13th National Congress, and identifies them through three specific development stages: laying the foundation (from the 6th to the 8th National Congress); shaping the Party’s conception (from the 9th to the 12th National Congress); and the current stage (from the 13th National Congress to the present).
