Abstract

In the transition to renewable energy, Vietnamese government has made great efforts to promote the production and consumption of non-conventional sources of energy including wind and solar power across a wide range of industrial, commercial and residential sectors. The fast shift from fossil fuels to renewable energy in the last few years in Vietnam is deemed inevitable. The article attempts to review and analyse on-going policies for solar power in the country, thereby highlighting regulatory achievements, challenges and new dynamics in a new development context of higher proportion of renewable energy to meet higher power demand while better regulating “socked development” in this new energy field.
