National study on family violence for women in Vietnam: main results

Abstract

National study in family violence for women in Vietnam is part of Joint program of Vietnam Government and United Nations about gender equality (JPGE), was carried on by Vietnam General Statistic Office with technical support fro, World Health Organization (WHO), financial support from Millenium Goal Fund (MDG-F) sponsored by Spanish Government and Spanish Agency for International cooperation (AECID) in Vietnam.

Contents of the article introduce main results of the study:

- Main discovery about violence to women caused by husbands

- Main discovery about violence to women caused by other peoples (not her husband) 

-  Attitude and awareness about elements behind violence to woman caused by her husband.

- Impact of husband’s violence on health of women and children. 

- Violence to children, aspects of violence between generations.

- Strategy to deal with and behavior of women while they are violate and some recommendations
