Responsible Business Practices in Relation to New Trendy Standards

Abstract

This paper brielfy introduces the concepts of Responsible Business Practice (RBP) in Viet Nam, clarifying the relations between RBP and other trendy frameworks which are increasingly being implemented across the worlds and galobal value chains, such as Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) frameworks, the global impacts of UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Responsible Business Conduct (RBC). These trendy standards are observed from the view of responsible business to illustrate that the corporate responsibility to respect human rights is the core for businesses to catch up trends and make use of the opportunities thereof. Responsible business should be the lodestar in sustainability transition and in innovation/ creativeness of business models nowadays. This paper also provide recommendations for businesses as well as the State to catch the flow of responsible business.
