Abstract

This
paper
investigates
the
New
Poetry
Movement
in
Vietnam
(1932‑1945)
through
the
theoretical
framework
of
 landscape
criticism,
with
a
particular
emphasis
on
the
sea
as
a
complex
spatial
and
symbolic
entity.
By
examining
 selected
poetic
works
from
prominent
figures
such
as
Xuân
Diệu,
Hàn
Mặc
Tử,
and
Phạm
Huy
Thông,
the
study
 explores
how
the
natural
landscape
‑
specifically
the
sea
‑
is
internalized
and
reimagined
through
the
lens
of
the
 lyrical
self.
The
sea
is
presented
not
only
as
a
physical
setting
but
also
as
an
emotional
and
existential
metaphor
 that
mirrors
the
psychological
landscapes
of
a
generation
of
poets
grappling
with
modernity,
alienation,
and
 identity.
