VIETNAMESE TRADITIONAL CRAFT VILLAGES: IDENTIFYING CHARACTERISTICS AND MOVEMENT TREND

Abstract

On the path making Vietnam basically become a modern industrialized country, accelerating industrialization and modernization of agriculture and rural areas is of prime importance, in which restoring and developing traditional craft villages is one of the basic contents of this process both at the present and in the future. Although many craft villages have been tending to change in many aspects to adapt to the new context, besides these very encouraging moves, in order to achieve more practical effects in the activities of preserving and promoting the cultural heritage value of the villages, it is very necessary and useful to learn the basic characteristics and movement trends of today's craft villages.
