THEN HERITAGE OF THE TAY, NUNG, THAI ETHNIC GROUPS IN VIET NAM
Abstract
Then is a form of cultural activities associated with religious and spiritual rites; a form of intangible culture that scientists often call Shamanism. The Then activities of the Tay, Nung and Thai ethnic groups in Vietnam are rooted in the belief that "all things have a soul" - the basic spirit of the belief of Animism. It is a belief that in the period of developing science, some ethnic groups in the world used as a prop to explain and deal with the phenomena, things happening in nature, in life. The Tay, Nung and Thai compatriots used Then rituals, including performing the tunes, singing and dancing in Then's typical style to pray to the gods and ancestors for help to solve difficulties, risks encountered (illness, accident, child infertility...), or praying for the wishes of a better life (pray for long live, good luck ...). Over the ages, many events in history, until now Then's vitality has shown that it has been an indispensable spiritual asset, an invaluable intangible cultural heritage of the Tay, Nung, and Thai people. It is full of historical, cultural and scientific values, not only worthy of national cultural heritage but also worthy of recognition and honor as the intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
